The Blackstone Valley Sinners, Denver CO May 3rd 2003

The Blackstone Valley Sinners were a band that Slim Cessna played in after he moved away from Denver way back in the day.  Rich Gilbert was in the band along with Judithann.  I believe that they were backed by a drum machine.  I don't see a drummer in my pictures.  Anybody remember for sure?

Anyway I recall being psyched to hear some of the older lineup SCAC songs during this show.
Especially Lethal Injection.  I hope you enjoy it.  Link to MP3s at the bottom.

These guys took a 5 year break but they are back with a vengance.
I think they sounded even better then when I saw them back in 2003.
Don't miss them if they roll through or town.

Micah Schnabel (Two Cow Garage) Chad Price (Drag The River) Jon Snodgrass (Drag The River) , Hi Dive, Denver, CO 2009-11-29

They had 3 bar stools and three mic stands set up on stage and Micah, Jon, and Chad all took the stage together for a little folk singer in the round style action.  They took turns singing songs solo and singing with each other.  It was a really fun night and they all seemed to be in high spirits.  Jon  especially.

Unfortunately I had a little trouble with my recording.  Not sure if it was a loose/bad cable on stage or possibly a staticy pot or fader on the board.  The result being that some songs were just overcome with static and feedback and are lost forever.  I think this represents about 80% of the set so I was able to rescue a great portion of it.  Some of the tracks have a lite static in them, mostly at the beginning of the the track, but most of them sound great.  Anyway I hope you enjoy the tunes.  Myself I cant stop singing Spiderman Wolfman.

Chad Price, Front Range brewery tour, 2009-09-17

First up, hats off to Virgil and Suburban Home Records for putting this all together.  You are the radness Sir and I much appreciate all the good times and great tunes you have brought to Denver.  Cheers Buddy!!

Also a big thanks to the the Van driver for staying sober and putting up with us all day and part of the night.  Go check out all the stuff he has to offer.  http://www.suburbanhomerecords.com/

What a hell of a day. We met and Suburban Home at 9am and loaded up on some bagels. Good thing too because it was going to turn into a really long one. We got to the 1st stop, Odell's in Ft Collins, at 11am and started in on the yummy micro brews and Chad played his first set for the approximately 27 of us on the tour and a few other folks that showed up.

The plan was for 10 sets at 10 different locations. It didn't quite work out that way. The tour ended up hitting 9 of the 10 locations and Chad played sets at 8 of the 9. Pretty good all things considered.

We hit the following, Odells and Road 34 in Ft Collins, Oskar Blues's Tasty Weasel and Home Made Liquids & Solids in Longmont, Avery, Lefthand, and Upslope in Boulder, Breckenridge and Great Divide in Denver. The plan was to visit both Breck locations in Denver but time did not allow it to happen.

I managed to make audio recordings of 7 of the 8 sets that were played. He didn't play too many duplicates during the whole day and what we have here are the best versions of the those tunes.  Enjoy.

The Pogues live at the Ogden Theater, Denver CO 2009-10-23

I never was a huge fan of the Pogues but always liked what I had heard from this band.  So when I saw they were coming to town I knew that I wanted to see them.  Even if it was just to put another notch on the list of bands I have seen.  I didn't go in with high expectations but I thought the band sounded great.  Once I recovered on Saturday and got around to listening to my recording I was really pleased with it and wanted to share.  I hope you enjoy it.
