Fantômas @ Bluebird, Denver CO, 2001-09-13

I've posted my 1999 and 2004 Fantômas recordings previously on here.  Figured it was high time to get up the 2001 set.  Again the show was at the Bluebird Theatre in Denver like the 1999 show.  They were on tour for the "Director's Cut" album featuring their takes on various movie soundtrack songs.

This set pulled heavily from the first self titled album weaving in soundtrack songs and some other covers.  I love revisiting this show while getting it ready to post.  Far and away mt favorite of the 3 performances of this band that I have seen.

I've no doubt I traded this out on CDR back in the aughts.  This is a fresh transfer from the masters.  I re eq'd it, corrected the tracking, and freshly tagged the files.  Enjoy.

Fantômas @ Fox Theatre, Boulder CO, 2004-04-14

Mike Patton has this to say about this 2004 tour.  When asked recently by Billboard.com if FANTOMAS will perform their recently released third album, "Delirium Cordia", in its entirety on the upcoming trek, Patton said, "No, we won't play the whole thing. I did design one set where we never play loud. It is basically just going to be little small islands you swim to in the middle of the swamp. It is going to be drone city, baby. We are, for the most part, going to lean really heavy on this ambient stuff, and we are going to basically set up to bore people to tears."

It maybe was a frantic as some Fantômas shows I had seen previously but I wouldn't call it "drone city".  They did mix in many parts of Delirium Cordia through out.  Making this a very difficult show to track.  I'm still not 100% sure I got it right.  I believe that their might be a few more parts from the as then unreleased "Suspended Animation" album mixed into the Delirium Cordia excerpts.

The Fox always sounded great and yet again these old CSBs did a fine job capturing this show.
I must have traded this out on CDR or maybe an early torrent.  Not sure.

This version is a new transfer from my MD master.  Cleaned up, and tracked and tagged anew.
Enjoy

Fantômas @ The Bluebird Theater, Denver CO 1999-12-01

The term supergroup gets bandied about in connection with all kinds of unworthy collections of ne'er-do-wells. But I believe the moniker is well suited to this group of gentleman.  All masters of their craft I would submit.  Mike Patton of Faith No More, Mr. Bungle and many more , Buzz Osborne of Melvins, Trevor Dunn of Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs & more, Dave Lombardo of Slayer.

I was a fan of all of those groups when I had first heard about Fantômas back in 1998.  To say I was excited was an understatement. I picked up the debut album the day it came out and was not disappointed.  It was different for sure but still accessibly.

This is my capture of their Denver performance on their first tour of the US.  I traded this out a fair amount back in the CDR trading days.  This is a fresh transfer from the original minidisc and a remastering of the recording.  Consider it an upgrade if you've had this before.

Enjoy.
