Anthrax @ Fox Theatre, Boulder CO, 2000-01-31

In 1987 when Anthrax's album Among The Living came out I had already been a fan for a little bit.  I was 18 and trying to share my love for the album with my Mom.  Through the connection that we both were Steven King fans.  I didn't think she would love it but she heard it and made a face of dislike.  Then she said "That sounds like dangerous accident music, I hope you don't listen to that while you're driving"

At this Anthrax show from the Fox Theatre in Boulder Colorado in January of the year 2000.  Right before they play Metal Thrashing Mad, Scott Ian talks for a little bit, and he mentions that this song is about drinking and driving to fast.  So, as with a lot of things, Mom was right.

Anthrax was on tour for a greatest hits collection called "Return Of The Killer As".  It featured a cover of The Temptations song "Ball of Confusion" that had vocals from current vocalist John Bush and former vocalist at the time Joey Belladona.  This was supposed to a tour with both of them trading off songs.  Somehow that didn't work out so it is just John Bush singing.

Fox always sounded good so this is pretty ok.  Vocals and clear and the drums are thundering.  Guitars get a little muddy but very listenable.  Enjoy.

Belladonna @ 3 Kings Tavern, Denver CO, 2008-04-09

This was a crazy night and show.  Lots of metal people in Denver stoked to see Joey Belladonna live at a small club.   Then the power goes out on almost the entire block.  Show looks in doubt.

We notice that the bar across the street still has power somehow so we go hang out there for a bit trying to decide what to do.  After quite a while the power comes back on and the show is a go.

Right before Belladonna's set someone gets assaulted out in front of the venue.  They are hurt pretty badly and a ton of cops, firetrucks, and ambulances show up right out front.

Do to the power outage and the show being on a weekday night it was pretty sparsely attended but everyone that was there either knew each other personally or recognized each other.

About midway though Joey's set these muscle heads dressed in polo shirts and khakis roll in and decide that they are going to mosh.  To them that meant knocking people to the ground and acting like tough guys.  Totally stupid and not in the metal spirit of how moshing works.

A friend of mine tried to tell one of the dudes that kind of shit wasn't cool and got pushed to the ground.  That's when about 10 of the metal crowd pilled on that goon.  Right in the middle of Caught In A Mosh ironically.

The ridiculous fracas resulted in these dudes being dragged out of the club.  One of them wouldn't stop choking another friend of mine (RIP Haney) until they got by the door and saw at the police outside.  Then the shitheads started saying "we're cops we're cops".

Turns out they were jail guards or private security or some bullshit.  The cops pulled them to the side and told them to hit the road.  One of them dropped his phone in the mayhem and had the balls to come back and try and get it.  3 Kings owner told him to get the fuck out of his bar and don't come back.

Joey never stopped playing and at the end of the song while all this shit is going down.
He says "Oh man your fucking crazy man!!"

In a google search for a flyer or picture from this show I found this flickr post with a bunch or photos a Stephanie Cabral took.  Pretty cool.
Flickr page with Belladonna photos.

Figured this one needed to see the light of day.  Had to believe that was 12 yeas ago.  Enjoy.

Anthrax @ Riot Fest, Denver, CO 2015-08-28

The first time I saw Anthrax they opened up for KISS at McNichols Sports Arena.  They were on the Among The Living tour and I was a big fan.  I watched about 3 KISS songs and bounced.  I they that was the Hot In The Shade tour for them.  Not their hayday.  I think I made the right decision.

Short but sweet set in front of a super dusty pit.  Mosh it up indeed.

Despite the harsh conditions I super happy with how this turned out.  Turn it up!!!

Anthrax @ The Starlight, Ft Collins, CO 2001-09-12

Day after the 9-11 that no one is going to forget.  Didn't think the show was going to happen at all.
Band couldn't fly home so they decided to forge ahead and play some shows.  There is a little bit of talk about current events.  Nothing to heavy though.  This is late period John Bush Anthrax and the setlist is heavy with those songs.

Not the best recording either.  B- or a C+ maybe.  Vocals are pretty clear through out.
The show is incomplete do to some bad media issues.  A few songs fade out or fade in.
It is what it is.  By a fan for the fans.  Check it out.
