Tia Carrera @ Hi Dive, Denver CO 2019-06-14 & Room 710, Austin TX, 2004-09-24

Here is a double feature of Texas psychedelic hard rock veterans Tia Carrera.  They have been kicking around Texas and the world since around 1999 when Jason Morales & Erik Conn started the band.  They have been at in ever since with a variety of bass players.  At the moment that slot is filled by their long time friend Curt Christensen who you might know from Dixie Witch. Curt shows up on both the 2019 and the 2004 recordings presented here.

I had a friend from Texas rave about these guys to me for years before I finally heard them.  It was probably almost another 10 years before I got a chance to see them live since they don't tour very often.  I was not disappointed.  These guys deliver the goods live.  Big time.

The first recording is mine from the 2019 Electric Funeral fest a couple years back almost to the day.  The second is from Texas taper Tracy Murillo who shared a bunch of his masters with me last year.  I've posted more than a few of those last year.

I think both of these sound really nice and I hope you enjoy.   These guys have a bandcamp page so go support them and all independent artists anyway you can.  Cheers.

Taper notes:
This is one long jam they called New Orleans.
Curt Christensen from Dixie Witch played bass.

Tracking notes:
I've listened to the 15 minute Tia Carrera studio track called New Orleans and there are definite similarities with what they played on this day.  Different enough for me to decide to put in some track
splits. This seems to be just one long improvised jam with no real breaks by the band so it could have been just one long track. I dropped 8 track splits to make this easier to digest. Splits were made at dynamic changes in the music. If your a big fan and have tracking info I would love to hear it.  Maybe there is more than one song in this jam.
