I've seen Cory Branan a bunch of times and have posted a few of those recordings on here before. This show at The Lion's Lair in Denver on June 29th 2012 is a fun one that I have been meaning to post for awhile. He was on tour for his album Mutt at the time and we get a fair amount of songs from that album and some deep cuts. The 100 cap crowd at Lair were mostly fans so he fielded a lot of requests and tells a lot of stories. Some great covers too including a George Jones song I had never heard him play and a take on the odd post-blues Randy Neuman song "Let's Burn Down the Cornfield".
I think I might have not shared this because I thought it was too chatty in the small room but listening back to it I found it has just the right amount of the bar room atmosphere. His vocals and guitar are sharp and clear and I've had a fine time hearing this on repeat for the last few days. Enjoy.
