A year after Michael Dean Damron's band, I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch In The House, broke up he came to Denver with a new band called Thee Loyal Bastards. They recorded an album called Bad Days Ahead that came out in 2008.
I've been a big fan since I wondered into a ICLASOBITH show at the 15th Street Tavern in the early aughts. Michael is a great song writer and commands the stage when he plays. In the years after this ICLASOBITH reformed, recorded 2 more albums, and have played occasional shows and he was just recently out touring playing some solo shows. If you get a chance to see him don't miss it.
This show features mostly songs from that 2008 album and his guitarist, from Portland band Drunken Prayer, sings and plays one of his song "What Made Me Kill".
Thee Loyal Bastards played this show with Portland band Kleveland also on the bill opening up for Denver's amazing Red Cloud. I remembered this being recording being kind of chatty since it was recorded in the small confines of the Meadowlark Bar but I think it sounds pretty nice and is a fun performance. Enjoy.
