Walter Schreifels @ The Hi Dive 2006-08-15

Walter Schreifels of Quicksand, Rival Schools, and Gorilla Biscuits to name a few of the bands he has been involved in.  Played an additional gig in Denver after having played with the Gorilla Biscuits earlier in the evening.  No band just him and his acoustic guitar.  He runs through song spanning his career and some fun covers too.  The Sick Of It All medley into a Smith's song is my personal favorite.

I don't remember the circumstances but for some reason Walters guitar tech/roadie plays the first song of the set.  Pretty small turnout for this show but the people there were were all big fans and nice and quite while he is playing.  Thanks to everyone's rapt attention the recording turned out nice I think.

Hope you enjoy it.

Quicksand @ The Bluebird 2013-01-15

Like a lot of folks I was a big fan of this band back in the day.  Didn't really think that I would ever see them again.  But I guess I've said that about a lot of bands that have reformed in the last few years.

Walter Schreifels has so many irons in the fire, Rival Schools & Walking Concert it seems those LA and NYC reunions might be all that was going to happen.  Was super excited to see that they were going to do a small tour and Denver was included.

The last time I saw them was way back in 1998 opening up for the Deftones.  It was supposed to be at the then Mammoth Gardens now Fillmore.  It ended up getting moved to the Ogden and was a great show.  Snapcase opened.

Well they still have it.  Sounded tight as hell.  Captured a pretty decent recording of the whole affair.
Enjoy

Austin Lucas @ 3 Kings, 2010-09-11

All things must pass and so this year passed and I really missed the Suburban Home September shows.
It was a great run.  Good times.  Good friends through music.

Here is a great set from the 2010 event from Austin Lucas.  Really nice soundboard recording.
Check it out and keep supporting live music.

N.W.A, Anaheim, CA 1989-03-24

Here is something out of my bootleg collection.  An N.W.A. show from 1989.
Sound quality is pretty good.  Show ends when the crowd starts fighting during Eazy E's medley.

Pretty fun listen

The Legendary Shack Shakers @ The Aggie, 2002-11-08

What a great live band.  This was my first exposure to them when then opened up for Hank III back in 2002.  I hear that they are on hiatus at the moment.  Hopefully they get back together someday soon.

This lineup features Joe Buck on guitar.  He was also pulling double duty each night and playing bass during Hank III's set.  This is a short but sweet set with a couple choice covers and an extended version of Hip Shake.  Really nice soundboard recording.  Enjoy.
