SLAYER @ Fillmore Auditorium, Denver CO, 2001-11-30

Here is my recording of Slayer at the Fillmore in Denver back in the fall of 2001.  On tour for God Hates Us All.  The openers were American Headcharge and Chimaira. Who I don't recall actually seeing.  Might have been stuck in the always stupid long lines at this venue.  Who knows.

Killer setlist on this tour.  Great song after great song.  Not much stage banter.  They plowed right through the 18 songs.  This suffers sound wise from being at the Fillmore and it sounds like I was near the edge of the pit so there is some mic movement.  It is what it is.  Vocals are clear the rest is a bit muddy.    The Mandatory Suicide into Chemical Warfare is my favorite pairing.  Enjoy

Slayer @ Mammoth Events Center, Denver CO, 1991-01-19

Here is another tape out of the Lantz box.  I was excited about this tape particularly since I had been to this show.  Way before I was recording shows myself so it was fun to relive it.

Once again Lantz did a great job with the gear he had.  Sounds to me like a fix position recording. He was able to set his tape deck down somewhere and not move it.  Barely any phasing or other changes in tone.  Really nice tape of this era of Slayer.

This show happened days after the start of the first Gulf War in Iraq.  Tom mentions it in intro to a few of the songs.  Tom is extra chatty and there are many a classic piece of stage banter from him on this.  Band it tight as hell and the set list is top notch.  Raining Blood right into Black Magic!!!!

I recall it was below zero freezing in Denver the night of this.  Just brutal.  Tom mentions that too.
Testament opened.

Enjoy

Slayer live @ The Ogden, Denver CO 1998-06-04

In honor of Jeff Hanneman of SLAYER passing away recently I thought I would post some live stuff on here.  First up is SLAYER live at the Ogden Theater back in 1998.  I won six comp tickets from some online contest.  I remember they showed up at my house via FEDEX.  I gave 4 of them away to friends and then the other 2 to some random kids out front.

This was right after SLAYER had released Diabolus in Musica.  What some people branded their sell out nu metal album based on one track Stain Of Mind.  I guess it had a bit of different sound for SLAYER but the rest of the album is heavy as hell.  Scrum, Bitter Peace, Screaming From The Sky.  Great stuff I think.

Maybe because the album was so new they only played one song from it.  Rest of the setlist is super solid.

System of a Down and Clutch opened up the show.

The first track suffers a bit from the taper adjusting the levels a bit but hang in there it gets better.

Here is a little added bonus show.  I've never heard a recording from a Denver stop of the Reign In Blood tour but this little gem from Salt Lake City will  have to do.  A little unsure about that date.  This is a nice sounding recording from the soundboard.  The band is on fire too.  They're so fucking fast.
