The was the first night of the big reunion shows weekend.  Well unless you count the night before when they played at the Lion's Lair. You really probably shouldn't though because that show was rough.

Melvins (lite), August 5th and 7th 2010

Well this weekend was supposed to be all about the Warlock Pinchers reunion shows.  And no denying it they really pulled it off and put on some great shows.  One neat thing was that they got Dale Crover from the Melvins to fill in on drums.  This then opened the door for a form of the Melvins to play.  The Melvins Lite got added to the bill on the 2nd reunion show.  Horray!!!!

Melvins lite is just Dale Crover and King Buzzo playing as a duo.

As the weekend approched I started hearing rumors that the Warlock Pinchers were playing a semi secret show at the Lion's Lair the Thursday night before.  Sounded neat but I figured I could miss it since I was going to both the Gothic shows.  Thursday night my friend down at the Lion's Lair let me know that the Melvins were playing as well.  Horray!!!!!!  I hauled ass down there and made it just in time to see them play.

Seeing the Melvins in front of such a small crowd was quite a treat.  The setlist included some old tunes that I'm not sure that I had ever heard them play before and some choice covers of Wings, Cream, & Kiss.

Two nights later the Melvins lite played for a much bigger crowd at the Gothic Theater.  Pretty much the same setlist with the exception of a cover of Alice Cooper's song "Ballad Of Dwight Fry" and "Let God Be Your Gardener".   Great stuff
