Giuda @ Larimer Lounge, Denver CO, 2017-10-02

This was a great show.  I had heard these Italian rockers awhile back and thought they were a lot of fun.  Kind of goofy but tough at the same time.  Big hooks and sing along parts.  Think Queen / Bay City Rollers / AC/DC fronted by soccer hooligans.

When I heard they were coming to Denver I knew I couldn't miss it.  They totally delivered for the Monday night crowd.  Hopefully they got enough of a reaction on their small US tour this fall that they will make it back over here.

Enjoy.

Lucero @ Westword Music Showcase, Denver CO, 2007-06-16

Here is Lucero at the Westword Music Showcase playing right before Dinosaur Jr back in 2007.
Ben Nichols even comments about how excited he is to see them.

The were on tour for the Rebels, Rogues & Sworn Brothers album.  No horn section yet but Rick Steff is on keyboard.

Fun setlist with some now classic tunes.  Tears Don't Matter Much is a barn burner!!

Good tight rock n roll from these road dogs on this evening.  And early enough to ensure that the band wasn't as loose as they might have been at a late night show during this era.

Great to see that 10 years on from this show they are bigger than ever and still writing fantastic rock n roll songs.  Cheers to Lucero.

Dinosaur Jr @ Westword Music Showcase, Denver CO, 2007-06-16

Ran across a DVD the other day that had this and a couple other sets that I had recorded back in 2007 at the Westword Music Showcase.  The sounded really nice so I figured I would get them posted.

This was a couple years after they are reunited and were on tour for their first new album in years.  Beyond that came out on Fat Possum.

Sounds really nice.  Enjoy.

Sacred Reich @ Marquis Theater, Denver CO 2017-09-18

I love thrash metal and all the bands the came out of that mid to late 80s era.  Sacred Reich quickly became one of my favorites once I heard them.  Saw them for the first time on the Surf Nicaragua tour in 1989.  Caught them again multiple times.

One very memorable show they headlined over Forbidden and believe it or not Faith No More.  The Real Thing had just come out and no one had quite caught on yet.  The metal crowd did not give them a warm reception.

Another time with amazing Seattle thrashers Forced Entry and Obituary on their Slowly We Rot tour.  Amazing show That was the beginning of the 90s and Grunge came in and metal waned quite a bit and the thrash revolution was over.

It has made a resurgence in the last decade though so I was excited to see that Sacred Reich was touring again and had a Denver date.

Crowd was full of old metal head dudes just as I expected and a good time was had by all.  Like the fan base the band was looking a little older as well but still sounded great.  They had played a bunch of dates in Europe just prior to this so they were road tight.

I think this turned out pretty nice.  Enjoy.

Secret Chiefs 3 @ Ogden Theater, Denver CO, 2017-09-23

Spectacular opening set from Secret Chiefs 3.  I think I was even more excited to see these guys than Dead Cross.  In my mind it was a co headlining show.  Both bands were power houses.

Hopefully we will get to see SC3 out on the road again soon.  It had been awhile since they had come though last.  Don't pass up a chance to catch them live if they come near you.

Enjoy.
