The Dwarves @ Lions Lair, Denver CO, 2000-06-13

I just finished reading Vadge Moore's book "My Life With The Dwarves: How I Drank, Fought & F**ked My Way Around The World" not long ago.  Got me thinking about all the times I saw the Dwarves.  Vadge doesn't talk about this specific show in his book but the Lions Lair is mentioned.  Along with lots of crazy antics and good stories.

I saw the Dwarves multiple times at the Lion's Lair but looking through my archive I guess I only recorded them this one time.  The above flyer and photos are from different nights then this recording.  The photos are within a year or two of my recording.  They do a good job of illustrating what the Lion's Lair layout used to look like when the stage was right behind the bar.

The show and this recording are rough around the edges for sure so it is what it is.  Fun enough listen I think.  I had this on my CDR trade list back in the day so I may have traded it out some.  This is a fresh transfer from the master.  Newly cleaned up and tracked and tagged.  Enjoy.

Jawbox @ Marquis Theater, Denver CO, 2022-03-22

I've been a fan forever but I never caught Jawbox live in their heyday.  As they mention during this show it had been 26 years since they had played in Colorado.  I recall that it was on a Redrocks bill along with Stone Temple Pilots and Butthole Surfers.  I did seee J Robbins post Jawbox band Burning Airlines once.  My recording of that is posted on this blog.  So this show was a treat and as soon as they announced this date I bought a ticket.

The setlist covers their entire career with a couple of choice covers thrown in .  Enjoy.

Monolord @ Marquis Theater, Denver CO, 2022-03-10

I think this was my 4th time seeing Monolord.  They started in 2013 and have been cranking out tasty doom metal ever since.  I have another show posted from 2019 on here.

This show was supposed to happen on March 9th but the band got stuck in the snow on I-70 coming from their show in SLC.  Before 'Cursing The One' Thomas thanks the guy who got them some tire chains so they could make it to Denver and onward.

Hats off to whoever was manning FOH sound on this night.  Monolord plays loud and I thought they sounded great.

As always support artists you love by buy merch directly from them and now that they pandemic seems to be subsiding by going to see them live.

Enjoy.

Meat Puppets @ Gothic Theater, Englewood, CO, 2014-04-01

Was looking for something to post and I came across this Meat Puppets show I had never tracked out.  I think it was because it was incomplete.  They were on tour with Moistboyz and for some reason I got there late and didn't get my gear running until a few songs had passed.

There is a bit of dialing in during the first song but I'm pretty happy with this capture.  The setlist has some old classics and some interesting covers.  They really stretch out on their version of Cathy's Clown.  Amazing guitar interplay.  Enjoy.
