k.d. lang & The Reclines @ Celebrity Theatre, Anaheim CA, 1989-11-28

After a bit of a break here is another of the cassette masters from the Kat George archive.

This time an incomplete but lots of fun recording of k.d. lang & The Reclines live at the Celebrity Theater in Anaheim California back in November of 1989. The tape is dated 11-21-1989 but I found a notice in the LA Times from 1989 indicating that this show had been postponed and the new date was 11-28-1989

A few odd tape issues in places and a rowdy crowd. But the RQ-J36 really shines at a show that isn't so loud. Great cover of Willie Nelson deep cut Three Days. Enjoy.

Melvins @ Mission Ballroom, Denver CO, 2023-05-16

I long ago lost track of the number of times that I have seen the Melvins. The first time was in 1993 on the Houdini tour. They pretty much come every year to Denver at least once. Some years they would hit multiple Colorado cities in a row. So in 30 years I have to be close to seeing them at least 30 time and maybe a few more.

Missed the beginning of this set though. Lucky for me I knew a couple other tapers in the crowd and I was able to splice in the first 5 songs from my friend Ramiro's recording. He was a little closer so the sound is a bit different but not in a jarring way. Quite an enjoyable listen and a hell of a setlist.
