Teenage Bottlerocket @ Riot Fest, Denver CO, 2015-08-30

It's with a heavy heart I post this.  Teenage Bottlerocket just had their drummer Brandon Lee Carlisle pass away suddenly.  Totally out of the blue and unexpected.

His family is having a Gofundme to help cover the cost of his medical bills and other expenses.

Anthrax @ Riot Fest, Denver, CO 2015-08-28

The first time I saw Anthrax they opened up for KISS at McNichols Sports Arena.  They were on the Among The Living tour and I was a big fan.  I watched about 3 KISS songs and bounced.  I they that was the Hot In The Shade tour for them.  Not their hayday.  I think I made the right decision.

Short but sweet set in front of a super dusty pit.  Mosh it up indeed.

Despite the harsh conditions I super happy with how this turned out.  Turn it up!!!

Iggy Pop @ Riot Fest, Denver CO, 2015-08-28

It's always fun to see Iggy Pop.  This night was no exception.  It took me a while to become a fan.  The first stuff I really heard from him was at the end of the 80's when his album Brick By Brick came out.  Candy was the big hit and I remember heard Butt Town a lot for some reason.  It didn't win me over.

In fact I saw him on the Brick by Brick tour but I only went because Alice In Chains was opening up for him right after their first album had come out.

It took some digging into his back catalog for me to become a fan.  Well worth it.  The man is an American Rock N Roll treasure.

Slipped up and didn't get the very beginning of his set and I cut Nightclubbing due to an extended conversation.  Other than that I think it turned out pretty nice.  Enjoy

The Damned @ Riot Fest, Denver CO 2015-08-29

From what I hear the Damned's set at the Marquis the night before was really great.  I couldn't make that so I was glad to catch them Riot Fest the next day.  Infectiously fun with great tunes The Damned are always a good time.

Sound is a little rough at first during love song but gets much much better as I moved to a better spot.

L7 @ Riot Fest, Denver CO 2015-08-30

L7 was another act at Riot Fest this year that I was determined not to miss.  Been a big fan for a long time.  I thought they were pretty good even though they apologized for not being up to standards of old.  I guess that is to be expected after such a long absence.  But frankly I don't recall they ever being the tightest live act.  They have always been fast and frightening.

Fun setlist and I pretty happy with the sound on this one.  Enjoy!!
