Happy New Year!!!
Just in time for the new year I've done a house cleaning on the blog and 98% of all the posts have new or functioning links to FLACs and MP3s. If you run across a bad link sometime leave a comment or drop me an email and I'll get it corrected.
I've also added a alphabitized index on the right hand side for easier navigation on the site.
Thanks for all to support over the years. It's a small select group of people that really enjoy live music recordings and I'm happy to help spread some of mine out in to the void for all to hear.
Enjoy.

Bongripper @ Hi Dive, Denver CO, 2017-12-16
This Chicago band doesn't tour very often so it was a treat to see that they were on the bill for the 2nd annual Decemburger show that the dudes from Dust Presents put on.
Their heavy as fuck take on psych doom metal is an amazing aural assault that is damn near hypnotizing. Live they are a real trip. I think my recording sounds really nice but it nothing like standing facing the cosmic abyss that is Bongripper live.
Don't miss a chance to see these guys live. Their record output is well worth your money as well.
Support live music and the arts anytime you can.
Enjoy

Chad Price, Front Range brewery tour, 2009-10-17 (complete)
I originally posted a version of this back in 2009. It was a "best of" version that compiled all the best versions of songs that were played multiple times at the different stops during the day.
It is still located HERE if you would prefer a more concise version.
The links at the bottom of this page are version that contains all of my recordings from the day.
Enjoy
text from original 2009 post
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First up, hats off to Virgil and Suburban Home Records for putting this all together. You are the radness Sir and I much appreciate all the good times and great tunes you have brought to Denver. Cheers Buddy!!
Also a big thanks to the the Van driver for staying sober and putting up with us all day and part of the night.
What a hell of a day. We met and Suburban Home at 9am and loaded up on some bagels. Good thing too because it was going to turn into a really long one. We got to the 1st stop, Odell's in Ft Collins, at 11am and started in on the yummy micro brews and Chad played his first set for the approximately 27 of us on the tour and a few other folks that showed up.
The plan was for 10 sets at 10 different locations. It didn't quite work out that way. The tour ended up hitting 9 of the 10 locations and Chad played sets at 8 of the 9. Pretty good all things considered.
We hit the following, Odells and Road 34 in Ft Collins, Oskar Blues's Tasty Weasel and Home Made Liquids & Solids in Longmont, Avery, Lefthand, and Upslope in Boulder, Breckenridge and Great Divide in Denver. The plan was to visit both Breck locations in Denver but time did not allow it to happen.
I managed to make audio recordings of 7 of the 8 sets that were played. He didn't play too many duplicates during the whole day and what we have here are the best versions of the those tunes. Enjoy.

ZEKE @ Lost Lake, Denver CO, 2017-10-24
Zeke is back after way to long of an absence. I saw Zeke so many times back at the end of the 90's and beginning of the aughts that I totally lost count. One of my favorite bands ever.
They were then and continue to be a ferocious live act. Mark is still running the show and former member Kurt Colfelt is back on bass with some new guys. They hit Denver after a run in Europe and a string of US dates. Road tight and kicking ass
I'm stoked that they are going to be having a new album coming out on Relapse next year. Been way to long since the last proper Zeke album. Hopefully that means more touring.
Buy their shit and go see them live

Giuda @ Larimer Lounge, Denver CO, 2017-10-02
This was a great show. I had heard these Italian rockers awhile back and thought they were a lot of fun. Kind of goofy but tough at the same time. Big hooks and sing along parts. Think Queen / Bay City Rollers / AC/DC fronted by soccer hooligans.
When I heard they were coming to Denver I knew I couldn't miss it. They totally delivered for the Monday night crowd. Hopefully they got enough of a reaction on their small US tour this fall that they will make it back over here.
Enjoy.

Here is Lucero at the Westword Music Showcase playing right before Dinosaur Jr back in 2007.
Ben Nichols even comments about how excited he is to see them.
The were on tour for the Rebels, Rogues & Sworn Brothers album. No horn section yet but Rick Steff is on keyboard.
Fun setlist with some now classic tunes. Tears Don't Matter Much is a barn burner!!
Good tight rock n roll from these road dogs on this evening. And early enough to ensure that the band wasn't as loose as they might have been at a late night show during this era.
Great to see that 10 years on from this show they are bigger than ever and still writing fantastic rock n roll songs. Cheers to Lucero.

Dinosaur Jr @ Westword Music Showcase, Denver CO, 2007-06-16
Ran across a DVD the other day that had this and a couple other sets that I had recorded back in 2007 at the Westword Music Showcase. The sounded really nice so I figured I would get them posted.
This was a couple years after they are reunited and were on tour for their first new album in years. Beyond that came out on Fat Possum.
Sounds really nice. Enjoy.

Sacred Reich @ Marquis Theater, Denver CO 2017-09-18
One very memorable show they headlined over Forbidden and believe it or not Faith No More. The Real Thing had just come out and no one had quite caught on yet. The metal crowd did not give them a warm reception.
Another time with amazing Seattle thrashers Forced Entry and Obituary on their Slowly We Rot tour. Amazing show That was the beginning of the 90s and Grunge came in and metal waned quite a bit and the thrash revolution was over.
It has made a resurgence in the last decade though so I was excited to see that Sacred Reich was touring again and had a Denver date.
Crowd was full of old metal head dudes just as I expected and a good time was had by all. Like the fan base the band was looking a little older as well but still sounded great. They had played a bunch of dates in Europe just prior to this so they were road tight.
I think this turned out pretty nice. Enjoy.

Spectacular opening set from Secret Chiefs 3. I think I was even more excited to see these guys than Dead Cross. In my mind it was a co headlining show. Both bands were power houses.
Hopefully we will get to see SC3 out on the road again soon. It had been awhile since they had come though last. Don't pass up a chance to catch them live if they come near you.

Dead Cross @ Ogden Theater, Denver CO, 2017-09-23
Been following the development of Dead Cross for awhile now. Well before Mike Patton got involved. I heard a recording of one of their early shows with the original vocalist Gabe Serbian and was instantly intrigued. Was looking forward to a studio release.
When I heard Gabe left and Mike Patton had stepped into the vocalist position I was a little surprised but certainly not bummed. I'm a fan of pretty much anything Mr. Patton does.
So when the announced a tour with Secret Chiefs 3 as support I knew that it was going to be a not to be missed show. That was a totally correct assessment.
Here is the show from the Ogden Theater in Denver along with the sound check.
I'll be getting the Secret Chiefs 3 show up soon. Enjoy.

Slo Burn @ Psycho Vegas, Las Vegas NV, 2017-08-18
Psycho Vegas 2017 had a killer line up but the fact Slo Burn was on the bill sealed the deal for me.
Slo Burn's only official release came out in 1997 and they played some shows back then but not enough for me to ever have a chance to see them. They lay dormant mostly since then. Never thought I would ever get a chance either. So I was pretty stoked to hear that they were active again.
They hit Vegas after playing a string of dates over in Europe so we got them road tight and rocking. Their set more than met my expectations. So good.
Had some issues with my normal gear so in a last ditch effort to capture Slo Burn's set I just used my M10's internal mics. Not hoping for anything worthwhile. I figured I was wasting my time but just in-case I hit record and let it roll. So happy I did. This is certainly not the best recording I've ever made but it turned out surprisingly well. Totally listenable and enjoyable.

Today Is The Day @ The Marquis, Denver, CO 2017-07-26
This band certainly isn't for everyone. I have some friends who are fans of more gently music that Today Is The Day would seriously bum out. It's ugly and visceral in away that is practically confrontational. It feels a bit dangerous. And I mean all that in the most complimentary way possible. Love TITD a ton.
Rest of Denver wasn't feeling it though. Only about 50 or so folks showed up. It was a week night. I get it. I'm guilty of saying "fuck it" and bailing on weekday shows pretty often. Y'all missed out though.
Fantastic opening sets from Denver Glacial Tomb and out of towners Kayo Dot. TITD was on tour for the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking album Temple Of The Morning Star. Played a large amount of songs from that release and a career spanning mix of additional numbers. Very satisfying evening of music.
Steve Austin seemed genuinely ok with the small turn out and had nice things to say about Denver.
Buy their records. Go see them live. I saw in Decibel that the are working on getting a new album out soon too. The Today Is The Day train powers on.
Enjoy
