Maybe the most "desert" thing I saw at Desert Fest London was getting the chance to see desert rock legend Alfredo Hernandez play drum with two bands back to back. He was a member of Kyuss, Yawning Man, Queens Of The Stone Age, and lots of others. Don't get much more desert rock than that. He played with UK instrumental band Sons of Alpha Centauri and then with his band Avon. Which is named after a QOTSA song.
We got a nice set of their originals and 3 QOTSA and 1 Kyuss covers. Good times. Sounds like they have a new album coming out soon. Be on the look out if your a fan of this genre. Enjoy.
