Being a fan of Waylon and Willie and their Texas associations. I've had Kinky Friedman on my radar for awhile. Missed him coming through town the last few times and figured it was about time I caught him live.
Despite my excitement I ended up missing the first 15 or so minutes of his set. What I did see was pretty great. Super quite respectful crowd. You could literally hear a pin drop.
His delivery of The Ballad of Ira Hayes is downright chilling. Kinky tells a pretty interesting story about how he found out Nelson Mandela had been a fan of his too. Enjoy
